FAITH ATTACK!
'...use the shield of faith...' Ephesians 6:16
Today let's have a 'faith attack' by answering the question 'what is true faith?' Believing: Believing Jesus is who he says he is (John 8:24).
Trusting: Trusting Jesus will do what he's said (John 6:40). Only found in Jesus: Not another religion or well meaning people (Acts 20:21).
Confident in God: Being certain what God has said will happen- will happen! (Hebrews11:1).
Grow: Helping you to be useful and productive (2 Peter 1:5-8) Used: If you don't use it you lose it! (James 2:14). Powerful: A little can do much! (Luke17:5;6).
Given by God: It's a free gift that saves us (Ephesians 2: 8-9). The Bible tells us in Ephesians 6, that true faith is often revealed in us when we're under attack from the enemy. And when you see what it does you can understand why! But we need never worry, because God gives us all we need to protect ourselves. We have spiritual armour, but don't just read about it use it!
A Roman soldier's shield protected him from head to toe. It was made of iron, upholstered in thick layers of fabric, and saturated in water when going to battle. Consequently the flaming arrows of the enemy fizzled on contact.
Today 'Put on your full armour of God...use the shield of faith with which you can stop all the burning arrows of the evil one.'
