Don't slouch
'she could stand straight' LUKE 13:13
'DON'T SLOUCH!' Have you ever had it said to you by a teacher or parent? 'Stop slouching, sit up straight'. Well guess what? Today God is saying 'DON'T SLOUCH!' Now that doesn't mean God's having a go at you about the way you veg on the couch watching the TV, or slump in the chair at your computer. He's saying, 'Know your worth, know your value, and walk tall, because with me there is no need to slouch!'
If we get criticised, put down, bullied or made the punchline of someone's joke, what can happen is that we start to believe we are worthless. Instead of being able to walk with our head held high, knowing we are, '...fearfully and wonderfully made...' (Psalm 139:14 ) we end up walking stooped over, head down feeling negative about who we are.
Luke tells us about a woman Jesus met who was bent over and couldn't straighten up. She was slouching big time and had done for 18 years; something inside her was crippling her. Then she met Jesus, 'he called her over... he touched her and instantly she could stand straight.' Jesus made a MASSIVE difference in her life & he can do the same for you.
Allow Jesus to touch your life, just ask Him, so you can stand up straight! Hear Him tell you your worth. You are a priceless precious person in God's sight!
