'Kind words heal and help. Cutting words wound and maim.' PROVERBS 15:4

From: Lou Cypher. To: Subject: Improving your anger technique Message: Here's a few thoughts on how to win that all important argument:

Remember, with any argument you're in it for the long haul. If you're not prepared to stay up for at least forty eight hours without food and sleep, then you may as well give up now.

Come prepared with lots of past history you can fling in their faces at any given point. Sharp and sometimes blunted objects can be handy to keep up your sleeve, just in case, it should turn nasty, but the greatest weapon you will have in your arsenal is your own mouth. No, not blasting them with your pre-breakfast dungeon breath, no, much better is a dose of good old fashioned sarcasm. The swelling of a bruised eye can disappear in days, but a snide remark about their weight or sexuality can leave a wound that may never fully heal.

The bad old book says, 'Kind words heal and help. Cutting words wound and maim' (Proverbs 15:4 TM). Or to paraphrase: 'Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will have me sobbing into my duvet for weeks, months, maybe years'. So happy arguing, and remember it's not the participating, but the winning that counts. Make sure your anger-buddy is scarred or maimed for life, physically, emotionally and psychologically if possible.
