It's not fair! Is it?
'Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see ' HEBREWS 11:1
Ever felt disappointed? It's not a nice feeling is it? It's that feeling you get when things just don't turn out like you'd hoped they would. It stinks! Life feels so unfair doesn't it?
Ever felt disappointed in God? Sometimes, when we hear what God has done for other people, we can hope that God will do the same for us. We begin to put our faith in God to do these things for us.
We may want God to make us into a fantastic worship leader or preacher or help us get that job, or get that girl/guy to go out with us, just like He did for those other people. Or maybe we want God to do amazing miracles through us like we read about in books.
'If God has done it for them' you say, 'then I believe God will do it for me. I have faith!' But sometimes that thing we hoped for doesn't happen and we can get really disappointed.
If this has happened to you, ask yourself this, 'Did I hear God promise to do that for me, or did I just tell God I wanted it?' Remember what you read yesterday? The first part of faith is listening. What God promises to one person he may not promise to you. Listen to what God is saying to you and put your faith in that; He won't disappoint you!
