Victory
'I have given you authority ... to overcome ... the enemy' Luke 10:19
Now here's a picture for you: at the end of World War II, General MacArthur met the supreme commander of the beaten Japanese forces. He took the sword out of the general's arms to signal the commander's defeat. He then enforced the terms of unconditional surrender.
Victory was declared publicly. You know what, Jesus did that for you at the cross. Jesus said, 'I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority ... to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you' (Luke 10:18-19 NIV).
Notice you haven't been called to defeat Satan; Jesus already did that 2,000 years ago. You have been called to enforce His defeat each day. Jesus already disarmed and made a public spectacle of him at the cross (Col. 2:15). That means Satan can't keep you from your destiny. When Jesus died and rose again He stripped the devil of his power and declared, 'All [power] in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Therefore go' (Matt. 28:18-19 NIV). Go in His power. Go in His strength. Go in His name. He has given you authority over the enemy - use it.
'You yourselves are a case study of what He does. At one time you all had your backs turned to God, thinking rebellious thoughts of Him, giving Him trouble every chance you got. But now, by giving himself completely at the cross, actually dying for you, Christ brought you over to God's side' (Col. 1:21-22 TM).
