Time it right!
'My entire lifetime is ... but a breath' Psalm 39:5
'What difference does it make, what I do with my time?' Good question! After all it is your life isn't it? You never asked to be born, so you can do with it what you want right? But what if how you lived now, what you choose to do with your time affected your future ... a life beyond death?
In the big scheme of things, our moment in history is summed up by the psalmist who wrote 'My entire lifetime is ... but a breath.' But God promises us many times that it is possible to live forever - there is life beyond death. Listen: 'Work hard for sin your whole life and your pension is death.
But God's gift is real life, eternal life, delivered by Jesus, our Master' (Rom. 6:23 TM). And in John 11: 25-26, Jesus says, 'I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die.' (NLT) Read the book of Ecclesiastes and you'll hear from the richest, smartest man who ever lived.
Solomon had everything you could ever want and more! No one could outsmart him - he was the wisest around. But with all that he had and all that he knew even he came to the conclusion that life is 'meaningless', it has no point, no purpose - unless it's lived knowing God.' Our time is wasted and gets us nowhere unless we use it chasing after God, doing God stuff.
