'Let the little children come to Me' Mark 10:14
You could change somebody's life forever right now. And all it would take is volunteering to help out with next week's Sunday school; today's children really are tomorrow's future. By the time a child is five they've learned 75 percent of everything they'll know in life. So if you want to make an impression, that's the time to do it.
In Mark 10 we read about the know-it-all disciples wafting the children away like a bad smell, but Jesus wasn't too happy with this. He says 'let the little children come to me.' Jesus admires the innocent, unwavering trust children have and challenges us to learn from them.
Perhaps, if we took God's hand more often across the road, we'd find ourselves in more playful adventures. Jesus loved and encouraged children: 'He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.' Wow! Those children would never forget that experience.
Imagine looking back to a moment in your life when the Lord picked you up, held you in His arms, laid His hands on you and blessed you. Well, in years to come, wouldn't it be nice to be remembered as that lovely person who excited me about God when I was a child?
It could be you with the privilege of shaping the next Mike Pilavachi or the future Mother Teresa. Do something beautiful today - invest in a child's tomorrow.
