Talking Faith
'Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.' HEBREWS 1:1
What is faith? 'Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see' (Hebrews 11:1 NIV).
How do you get faith? Listen: 'Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God' (Romans 10:17 NKJ). There's a difference between having a positive outlook on life and being a person who has faith. Being positive will make you feel good but it won't change your circumstances; but the Word of God does! The writer to the Hebrews says that God's Word is powerful like a sword (Hebrews 4:12 NIV).
So imagine the breakthroughs you can be part of if you choose to believe God's Word and then you speak that Word over your circumstances. For example you might be having a tough time because the devil is telling you lies like, 'you're rubbish and a failure'. If that's the case then instead of agreeing with him take God's Word and agree with that instead!
Start today by getting your tongue around some of the awesome promises that are yours in Jesus. Go on, say it out loud: 'God's Word says that He has good plans for my life (Jeremiah 29:11). With God on my side I can do anything because He has made me a winner not a loser (Romans 8:37). I was made to silence the enemy with my praises' (Psalm 8:2). Now you're talking faith!
