Send Me - I Will Go!
'Who will go for us?' Isaiah 6:8
Sat in his church office scribbling down notes for Sunday's sermon, the man looks up from his desk only to see hallucinations.
A man whose face burns like fire appears, seated on a throne of clouds suspended in the sky. Isaiah takes off his glasses and gives them a wipe. He sees the blazing King's robes trail into the church aisles. He rubs his eyes a second time. This time angels dart across the roof like fireworks exploding into electric colours of the rainbow. And a voice booms like a cannon, 'Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?'
Isaiah tears himself from his desk and steps into the light, 'Here I am. Send me'. Isaiah enjoys the full cinematic spiritual experience in church: visions, voices and warm fuzzy feelings. But he knows he can't stay wrapped up in the holy moment.
Soon after saying 'Here I am. Send me', the prophet will take his experience and go to the world outside with his message. He will face opposition, hard hearts and faith-testing times but still Isaiah has to go.
What about you? So the fuzzy feelings of summer conferences have gone. You remember touching God's heart so close only a month ago. But where are your Godly goosebumps now, eh? Well like Isaiah, now is the time to leave the cinematic stuff and step out into the hurting world with God's message. Whom shall He send? You?
