RAHAB'S STORY (4)
'Anyone who leaves your house will be killed, and it won't be our fault...' Joshua 2:19
She was safe as long as she stayed in the house. Before conquering Jericho, Joshua sent two spies in on a recon mission. That's when they met Rahab and she befriended them. As a result they gave her a scarlet cord to hang from her window, marking her house as 'off limits' to the invading army.
But notice the instructions that were given to her: 'If any one goes outside your house into the street, they'll be killed!' There's a lesson here: if you're wondering about getting off your feet and back into church, the message is: 'Get into God's house while you still have time!' If you're drifting away from God the message is, 'For goodness sake, don't leave the house guys!'
When it comes to being protected, the most important thing is knowing that you're 'in' God. What does that mean? Stay in church. Stay in God's Word. Keep praying. Stay in the company of praying mates who'll build you up spiritually. "Live under the protection of God Most High and stay in the shadow of God All-Powerful." (Psalm 91:1 CEV).
What now? If you need to get right with God, don't let the day end before you do! Don't let yourself worry or procrastinate - He waits with open arms.
