MADE IT!
'Follow Me, and I will make you...' Mark 1:17
Every year millions join the long lines on the quest to find stardom, each one hoping they have The X Factor. They're prepared to do whatever it takes to prove they're 'the next big thing' to enter the music world. Each one nervously awaits the approval of the judges.
They long to scream down the phone, 'I made it through to the next round!' Many fall at the first hurdle, some having been laughed (others man-handled) off stage, feeling intense disappointment. The nearer the hopefuls get to the finishing line the harder they fall in knowing they never made it.
Jesus says, 'Follow Me, and I will make you...' We all want to be 'a somebody' and Jesus promises when you follow Him, 'He will make you.' But we wonder if He'll leave us standing in line, kick us off boot camp, or turf us from His house.
Listen: Following God is like stepping out on tissue paper and discovering solid rock underneath. But you'll never discover the rock unless you're willing to step onto the tissue paper!
What now? Place today's verse on your mirror and remind yourself Jesus is going to make you into somebody - for Him.
