I'm no evangelist ... get me out of here!

'Therefore go and make disciples' Matthew 28:19

Very few of us have an anointing to teach and preach to large crowds, but that doesn't mean the rest of us can leave it all to the big-stage brigade. Unless your copy of the Bible came equipped with a personal exemption note from JC Himself, the Great Commission includes you. Believe it or not, you are the best 'Billy Graham' God could possibly put into your friends and family's lives. No, you don't need to carry a microphone or a portable Wembley Stadium around with you - you just need to carry a few Jesus principles in your heart.

Principle one: Chums not converts. Jesus had a packed social calendar. He hung out at parties and dinners because he saw people as chums not converts. We need to love our mates, not see them merely as potential pew-fillers.

Principle two: Buddies not bores. Banging on about the Bible with every breath will make you a God-bore. The best way to love someone might be a whole lot simpler than ramming a King James down their throat. A regular call, email or Facebook poke might not seem like evangelism but loving people for who they are is definitely Jesus territory.

Principle three: Pray don't push. It's not your job to 'save' anyone. Salvation is God's business. Telling someone you're praying for them whilst they face a tough situation might really touch them but sensitivity is obviously key.
