Find the vision (2)
'Write the vision and make it plain' Habakkuk 2:2
Right, so yesterday you had a think about the sort of things you're good at, skilled in and passionate about. Now it's time to take all that to God and see what He says to you. Yep, you guessed it - the next, and perhaps most important, key factor in finding your vision is to PRAY! Talk to God, ask Him what He wants to do through you - and then wait, and listen.
Not sure if what you're hearing is God or not? Well, just remember these checkpoints, and if it ticks the boxes, then it looks like you've got yourself a vision:
1) Am I motivated by it and excited at the idea?
2) Will I stick at it, no matter what?
3) Do my wise Christian leaders and mates think I'm skilled in that area?
4) Will it be pleasing to God?
It's a good move to chat to a mature Christian you trust about it too - see what they think and ask them to pray with you. Sometimes they can point out things you never would have even thought of as possibilities. You may not be quite as convinced as Jesus was about your purpose when He said 'for this reason I was born' (John 18:37 NIV), but once you've got an idea of your vision, go with it, and God will go with you. Don't put it off until you're older - it's never too early to find your vision and follow it.
