Fearless (2)
'He will work for you today' Exodus 14:13
A guy called Paul Parker once said, 'Fear is the most devastating of all human emotions. Man has no trouble like the paralysing effects of fear.'
Florence Nightingale once said, 'How very little can be done under the spirit of fear.' And they're right; fear stops us from living fully. We stop doing things, afraid it might go wrong; we don't speak up, afraid someone might laugh at us, not believe us or make us look a fool; we don't use our talents, afraid we won't be good enough; we don't try, afraid we might fail.
It has been said that fear is like the darkroom where the devil takes you to develop your negatives. But fear and faith can't live together - when one enters the other leaves. So the way to get rid of your fears, the way to become fearless, is to let God into your life.
1 John 4: 17-18 says, 'God is love ... Well-formed love banishes fear' (TM). If life for you is scary, stop and remind yourself whose company you're in.
Deuteronomy 31:8 says; 'Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you' (NLT).
Courage is fear that has said its prayers, so feed your faith and your fears will starve to death. When fear knocks at your door answer with faith and you'll discover there's no one there.
