Celebrate good times, come on!
'That is why I was sent' Luke 4:43
The story is told of a mother putting away the nativity set (you know - the wise men, shepherds, camels, etc) just after Christmas when she noticed the Baby Jesus was missing. She asked her four-year-old if he knew where Jesus was. He replied, 'Yes, but He doesn't want me to tell anybody.' 'Why not?' asked his mum. 'Because He doesn't want you to put Him away with the decorations,' he said. He's right!
We need to keep on celebrating Jesus. But Christmas Day seems like ages ago already! We've moved on now - it's sales time, shopping, bargains, new outfits. New Years Eve is on it's way!
When you know Jesus, the last thing you want to do is shove Him out your mind for a year. You want to include Him in everything.
Jesus is (1) Your Saviour: 'We know that this man really is the Saviour of the world'(John 4:42 NIV);
(2) Your faithful Friend: 'A friend who sticks closer than a brother'(Prov. 18:24 NIV);
(3) Your Life-transformer: 'He has sent Me to ... provide ... a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair;(Is. 61:3 NIV)
(4) All you need: Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life' (John 14:6 NIV). Don't hide Him, forget about Him, shove Him out the way for a year - celebrate Him.
