Your faith gets God's attention
'your faith has healed you.' LUKE 8:48
Read Luke 8:43-48. In this story a woman who'd been bleeding for 12 years crept through a crowd to touch the edge of Jesus cloak. After she was instantly healed, Jesus knew something had happened because He 'felt the power go out of Him'. The woman confessed it was her and Jesus blessed her. Notice three important things in this story:
1) She did something she'd never done before. She decided to try Jesus. Smart move! Faith means stepping into the unknown and taking a risk you've never taken before.
2) She recognised her moment. She knew that Jesus was visiting her town, and might not be back. There are 'God-moments' in life when you've got to get over your fear and move out in faith. If you don't, you'll miss them.
3) She started a new thing. Until then no one had been healed by touching His cloak but her act of faith was a new day. 'People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed' (Matthew 14:35-36 NIV).
God is looking for people who are willing to break with tradition. When He finds them, He uses them to open doors and show new ways of how He can work. So don't be scared to step out and take a risk, it might just start a new thing!
