Who are you? (2)
'God...shaped each person in turn.' PSALM 33:13:15
Paul has it sorted when he says, 'Each one of you is a separate and necessary part' (1 Corinthians 12:27 TLB). He knows that being different isn't a bad thing. If the church was full of carbon copies of each other, how boring would that be?! Everyone likes a good centre forward, but if a team was full of Wayne Rooneys it'd maybe score some amazing goals up front but it'd let plenty in at the back too. It's the same in Church, some of us will like to be up at the front, some of us might like to do things quietly in the background, well that's fine as well.
The Bible says, 'God shaped each person in turn,' which means you've got your bit to play. A bus is good for carrying lots of people at the same time but you wouldn't expect it to win formula one.
Likewise, a McLaren F1 is good for winning races, but it couldn't take you and your whole school to Blackpool for the day. Know what you're designed for, and the rest will follow.
The Word says, 'Be content with who you are' (1 Peter 5:6 TM). Stop trying to be an F1 if you're naturally a bus. There's no geek or glam with God; it's all about giving yourself permission to be the person God made you to be!
