The ultimate self-esteem!
'perfect love casts out fear' 1 JOHN 4:18
What are you afraid of? 'There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life-fear of death, fear of judgment-is one not yet fully formed in love.' (1 John 4:18 TM). Today, ask God to give you a fresh understanding of how much He loves you, for who He loves He prizes, protects, and provides for. Paul writes: '...[I pray]...that...you'll be able to take in...the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love...' (Ephesians 3:18 TM). Extravagant love! God's Love is MASSIVE, He couldn't love you any more than He does right now!
You say, 'What does God's love look like?' Look at the cross. If you had been the only person who ever lived, Jesus would have died just for you. Even if you're thinking 'yeah but you don't know how I've messed up' He never stops loving you! You didn't do anything to deserve it, so when you fail you don't lose it.
The Bible says: '...absolutely nothing can get between us and God's love...' (Romans 8:39 TM). Don't even be afraid of your weaknesses. As you get your head round it and you're more secure in God's love you can begin to acknowledge your weaknesses, seek His help, grow strong, and use the gifts He's given you.
When you know God loves you, not despite but because of who you are, you have the ultimate self-esteem; and it comes from God's esteem for you.
