When the scriptures say, "bless those who persecute you," the word there for bless is εὐλογεῖτε. Similar to the word for Gospel/Good News. It basically means to speak well of that person. To find the best qualities in that person you can see and to tell others about these qualities, to tell that person themselves how much you appreciate these good qualities of theirs.

Just saying, 'God bless you,' doesn't really seem, to me at least, to really do these verses justice. I don't think labeling a brother in Christ as a wretched soul and comparing him to Judas is quite acceptable really. I wish you would apologize to him.

I would do well to not continue entering in to arguments with those whom you understand to be commanded to remain silent.

Paul was instructing a people who appear to have been possibly much the same as we see here, who resisted not and were being consumed by the wiles of the devil, if it were possible.

Much being still is needful for some members who have been busy throwing stones and forgetting the Lord's commandment.
