Women be quiet !

Paul said women were to be quiet in church, and if they had questiona yo ask the husbands at home. Was this for the culture at that time or should the women keep quiet not ?

Does the Bible allow us to read culture in it ? Today women are educated and are CEO's of large and small compamy's, and have many men under their leadership. Does the Bible take into consideration of the changes made in the llast 2,000 years ?

I believe this kind of speaking being mentioned.. is the kind of teaching with authority, arguing and debating matters of doctrine in the church. Only the men could participate in this. That's why if they had questions they had to ask their husbands at home.
I believe the culture in that time, in this particular church, contributed to women having equal status or ruling over men. This was a difference between Gentile and Jewish culture. But Paul's instructions were not according to culture but according to God's creation order: man first, woman second. Woman was the one who was deceived and left the covering of her head (husband). Paul gave the same instructions to all the churches, i.e. he did not have a different standard for one church over the other. If anything, Paul was imposing Jewish culture and custom on a gentile church.

Seems unless women are husbands to 1 wife they are excluded, and we all know how lesbianism is well accepted. If a man can't lead a woman properly in that he leads but takes great care of his wife then i don't trust him to lead me. Adam should have paid better attention to eve and reminded her what God said before she ate the fruit, your first fault as a husband is giving into your wife if she wants you to do something unscriptural, like sit on the sidelines while she preaches, or eat of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

In 1 Cor 12, the gifts of the Spirit are talked about. Healing, Miracles, Tongues and Prophecy.
In 1 Cor 13 it says if I used these gifts without love I am nothing.
In 1 Cor 14 it talks about the rules of using these gifts, for example, there should only be three prophecies given in a service at most.
If one person is speaking and another receives a prophecy, the first person should be quiet, also if someone speaks in tongues, it should be interpreted, etc...
If you ever attend a charismatic Pentecostal church(such as Assembly of God for example) you will often here people speak out loudly in the congregation (usually toward the end of worship time).
Sometimes someone will speak out loudly in tongues, if this happens, it should be interpreted. Other times someone will prophesy directly in English. (I'm sure other native languages around the world).
I believe that 1 Cor 14:34; is talking about this kind of speaking out. It could be that if a woman gives a revelation from God it could be taken as a woman having authority over a man in church.
But this is different from women speaking at all in church. We know many women had ministries in the church in the Bible.
