He held the purse
Money was his to spend
It was his to save
He ate with the Master
His hands touched
The same cup
He “sold” Him for silver
Thirty pieces of shiny metal
The trade for Him
In the garden he walked
With soldiers at the ready
One action still to come
He approached the Master
Smiled and
Sealed the deal with a kiss
The One Who would
Shed His blood
Even for him
With a kiss
The deal was complete
The deed was done
With a kiss
He traded a life
for thirty pieces of metal
