Why Me?

As the Psalmist once said.

Psa 34:19 THE RIGHTEOUS PERSON FACES MANY TROUBLES, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time. (NLT)

A Child of God who has the Word of God hidden in their heart will always have some kind of trials and tribulations because of that Word. Jesus told us so when he explained the parable of the sower.

Mat 13:21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for WHEN TRIBULATION OR PERSECUTION ARISETH BECAUSE OF THE WORD, by and by he is offended.

Jesus also tells us that when the Word of God is sown, Satan comes immediately to steal (take away) the Word.

Mar 4:14 The sower soweth the word.
Mar 4:15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, SATAN COMETH IMMEDIATELY, AND TAKETH AWAY THE WORD that was sown in their hearts.

Another account of this same verse gives us a little more info......

Mat 13:19 when anyone hears the word of the kingdom and DOES NOT UNDERSTAND IT, THE EVIL ONE COMES AND SNATCHES AWAY what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.

Trials, and tribulations come because of the Word of God. Satan comes to take away what was sown.
The only Word that can be stolen is when the person who hears it, and DOES NOT UNDERSTAND IT!!! If we understand the Word that was sown, SATAN CAN NOT STEAL SOMETHING YOU HAVE UNDERSTANDING OF!!!

Understanding of the Word of God is called “WISDOM”. As it is written. “Wisdom rests in the heart of man who has understanding” (Prov 14:33) Jesus told us to “provide” our self s as “bags” a treasure in the Heavens that faileth not where NO THIEF CAN BREAK IN AND STEAL” (Luke 12:33)

Trails come to every child of God whether or not they understand the Word or not. The fire will test every word we believe to be true. If what we believe is really true, the Word remains steadfast within that person. If we believe something to be true, and is not, we will suffer a loss, but not our life. (1 Cor 3:12-15)

The Apostle Paul who wrote most of the New Testament was not immune from such trials in his life. He knew that in the world he would suffer many things, but in Christ he would have peace, as Jesus once said.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that IN ME YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. IN THE WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TRIBULATION. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

It is nice to know in the mist of tribulation that are happening all around us in the physical world, we can have the peace of God that passes knowledge on the inside of us.

2Cor 1:8 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about THE TROUBLES WE EXPERIENCED IN THE PROVINCE OF ASIA. WE WERE UNDER GREAT PRESSURE, FAR BEYOND OUR ABILITY TO ENDURE, SO THAT WE DESPAIRED OF LIFE ITSELF.
2Cor 1:9 INDEED, WE FELT WE HAD RECEIVED THE SENTENCE OF DEATH. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead.

Paul thought for sure his life was at an end in this situation. There was no where to turn for help. His pressures here where beyond his ability to endure. Have you ever been in this kind of situation before?
Paul finally tells us something interesting.....

2 Cor 1:9........BUT THIS HAPPENED THAT WE MIGHT NOT RELY ON OURSELVES BUT ON GOD, who raises the dead.

It has always been God's purpose to have each and every one of his children trust, and rely on him for everything!!! Sometimes your pastor, brother or sister in the Lord can not help you in these kinds of trying times. Your only hope and help is in the Lord .

Brothers and sisters in the Lord can pray for you that God would strengthen you to endure, and over come, but, only the person who is going through such times must have faith, and endure them self's.

No wonder Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith fail not.

Finally Paul speaks about what happened to him in this situation.....

2Cor 1:10 HE HAS DELIVERED US FROM SUCH A DEADLY PERIL, AND HE WILL DELIVER US AGAIN. On him we have set our hope that HE WILL CONTINUE TO DELIVER US.,
2Cor 1:11 as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.
