Why is there evil in the world?

God created us, so that we can share His life of unconditional love, and thereby find peace and joy. To love is a decision; it, therefore, needs a choice. Without a choice, we can not love. The choice is to love or not to love. The latter means, selfishness; which is the cause of all evil. Because, God is all knowing, He knew that some people will choose evil. However, in order that we may be able to love, He had to give us a choice. If he had created us in such a fashion, that we would only choose love, then it would not really be a choice and we could never love. Obviously, evil hurts people and destroys life. Fortunately, our life on this earth is not the final story; it is only an infinitesimal part of our life where we finalize our choice. If we choose love, we will have peace and joy for all eternity; so that the hurt and suffering in this life would be nothing compared to the peace and joy for all eternity.

Many a times, when we are hurt by others, we wants to choose hate and selfishness; however, Jesus, who is God in human form, showed us by His life as a human being, that, love and forgiveness are the only positive responses to hate. Furthermore, by rising from the dead he also showed us that, if we choose love, death has no power over us.

Briefly........The bible says that "the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it?" The bible also says "trust no man" Quite specific instructions I would say.

But why is this? This is due to the fact that sin has entered the human race through the disobedience of our forefather Adam and Eve. This is the bible story. I use the word 'story' but it is the greatest 'fact' of human life. Pregnant with truth and the only answer to life as we know it.

Why is there evil in the world?

Before the fall of Adam there was not evil anywhere in the world. Once Adam and Eve sinned, Romans chapter 5 tells us that sin came into the world through Adam. As people began to choose lifestyles that were contrary to Gods will then sin slowly came into the earth. As sin entered the earth through people’s choices, it gradually pushed God out and allowed ungodliness to take over. Evil comes through people. People, who reject Gods Word on how to live, allow themselves to live selfish and self centered lives. That in turn affects those around them. Take Cain and Able. They both had a relationship with God and God was talking to them on a regular basis. This was after the fall. However, when Cain slew Able, he did it because he was jealous of Able because God accepted his sacrifice and not his. He yielded to jealously and in a rage, killed his brother. Over the last six thousand years, more and more men have chosen to live by their carnal nature and have yielded themselves to the devil and the world system which brings evil in to this world.

This is why it is so important to lead people to christ when ever you can. The more a society yeilds to Gods influence, the less evil will prevail.

That's why the Bible says "KEEP YOUR HEART WITH ALL DILIGENCE, FOR OUT OF IT SPRING THE ISSUES OF LIFE". Prov. 4:23

Another word for KEEP in that scripture is guard. For us to made the right choices we should firstly know what is right by meditating on the Word of GOD and secondly by staying away from things that influence us in a negative way. There is so much negative things in the world today that it is almost normal. But for us who are in Christ know the truth so we should seek GOD's wisdom in all situations so we can make those right choices. When we make those right choices GOD is able to move through us and reach those people around us and change their lives.

GOD cannot use an impure vessel for HIS pure purpose.
