Why does God send people to hell?

Greetings Chris, @complete

Our Lord Himself experienced death and the grave, before rising from the dead

Not arguing.
I think there are Biblical words about our Lord accomplishing/doing things during the time between crucifixion and resurrection?

If so, that raises question of how, if dead as per dead-is-dead 'theory'.

Bless you ....><>

When we die from this word are we " Dead "???

When leaving this present state of existance we are familiar with, others will call you dead. But the truth is, our being is eternal, as we are created in the image of God. Eternal creatures, like the Angels.

At judgement, God determines if we have lived in God's love or not. And those sent to eternal punishment are Dead to God.
'For as in Adam all die,
even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
But every man in his own order:
Christ the firstfruits;
afterward they that are Christ's
at His coming.'

(1Co 15:22-24)

Hello @Bill,

We are told that at death the' breath of life' or 'spirit' goes back to God Who gave it, and the body goes back to the dust from whence it came. The Lord Himself tells us when we will be raised.

We are created in the image of God.

The image of God being something of a spirit. Although God has created spirits, he himself is not spirit but something more than just spirit. Our only understanding of what God is, mankind has called God spirit.

The Bible was given to us through Jesus Through the Holy Spirit and through God the Father. It was written for us to understand to our limited understanding. We understand that God is Spirit but we don't understand what it means by that.

It even tells us in the scripture itself that God's ways are so much more than ours. So when we call God spirit it's in our understanding not in what he is exactly because it cannot be explained.

The same thing is true though when it comes to trying to explain what man is, in the concept that we are created in the image of God. We have to understand that in our limited understanding of the universe in our limited understanding of all of creation and our limited understanding of the scripture, does not explain to us fully what we are as far as being created in the image of God. Because we ourselves do not fully understand the image of God.

I hope this makes sense to you.

So being created in the image of God means that we are created in a likeness of God, not just so much in the hands and feet head and torso, but more so in the concept of that we have a heart, a mind, a spirit, and our whole selves which is our soul. Without the body. It tells us in the scripture that our body was made of dust and that body goes back to the Dust. But our true self which is within the body which is our soul is eternal.

Hello @Bill.

I believe that when God briethed His spirit into Adam he became a living soul, that is why at the death of the body, the spirit goes back to God Who gave it. Adam was made in the likeness of God, yes, but when Adam brought forth children they were made in Adam's likeness, in his image ((Gen. 5:3)..Only Adam was made in the likeness of God.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
