This person felt he was unworthy to die the same way Jesus our Lord died so asked that he would be hung upside down?
Who was it?
 
It was Peter!!!!

Although I cannot find scripture to support my answer! I will keep looking!

Yes, I too recall reading that Peter did not feel worthy to die the same way Jesus did, so he requested to be crucified upside down. I thought that this was very strange when I first heard it, and it still seems strange to me.
