Raised again for our Justification !

Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

This is perhaps the clearest scripture declaration setting forth the awesome Truth that sinners, offenders, transgressors that Christ died for, were by His death, Justified before God, for the phrase "was raised again for [on the account of]our justification." declares it !

The word FOR here is the greek word preposition Dia and means:

the ground or reason by which something is or is not done

   because of for this reason
   therefore

   Now what can be so clear of a statement than this, that those whom sins Christ was delivered up for, are here declared to be, shown to be Justified by His being raised up ! 24

Lets look at this some more. See Christ as the Surety Head Representative of the Elect or His Church/Sheep in their room and or stead, He was actually and indeed Justified from all the sins of theirs that was charged/imputed to Him. He was judicially exonerated in the court of Gods law and justice as their Head and Surety Representative, and Victoriously seated at the Right Hand of God for them Rom 8:33-34

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Now Christ's Justification from the Sins of those He represented, His Spiritual Seed, was their actual Justification also. Isa 53:10

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

Raised again for our Justification !3

A proper understanding of this Truth in Rom 4:25 gives this reasonable conclusion, that those sinners Christ died for, the Elect of God, prior to faith, repentance or conversion, they are reconciled to God and totally Justified before Him. Now this can't be said of all men without exception, for some without faith are condemned already Jn3:18.

Being Justified by the Death of Christ is foretold in the OT also !

Isa 53:11

1 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

The Many are Justified for whom He bare their sins, it agrees also with Roms 5:9,19 by His Obedience unto Death [in route to bearing their sins] shall many be made Righteous, or Justified.

In fact some translators renders Isa 53:11

Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied; by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities. 24

Justified before God apart from our faith/ believing !

This is a truth that carnal religion cant receive, because its a stranger to the Grace of God to sinners through Jesus Christ. However the Elect of God, those Chosen in Christ before the foundation, both old test and new test believers, were Justified before God, before faith, while ungodly in themselves, by the Person and Work of Jesus Christ. First of all, Christ came into the world on their behalf to fulfill all the Righteousness of the Law for them. Paul writes on that here Rom 8:3-4

3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.


In this He fulfilled the Law Matt 5:17

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Matt 3:15

15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

Now Christ the Surety Head of His Sheep, Church, Gods Elect has perfectly obeyed every command of Gods Perfect Holy Law, in deed, thoughts and speech, in that unto them, its counted as if they did it themselves, because its imputed to their credit as an free gift of Righteousness Rom 5:17

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ)

Its an gift by imputation, God considers it so, thinks it so, deems it so, pronounces it so Solely upon the Active Law keeping Obedience to His Law by Christ in their place and stead ! 24

Justified before God apart from our faith/ believing !2

Now not only did Jesus Christ provide the Elect a Justifying Righteousness which Honors every precept of Gods Moral Law Isa 42:12

21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

But He also for them subjected Himself unto the curse of the Law, hencing paying their debt, and satisfying Gods Law and Justice on their behalf Gal 3:13

13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree

He redeemed us from the curse of the law, by being made a curse for us in His Death, So by that God has freely forgiven us and accepts us as Justified/Righteous Rom 3:24

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption[Gal 3:13] that is in Christ Jesus:

This redemptive Justification is apart from the redeemed believing it, or even knowing about it. They shall know about it one day in their lifetime when God is pleased to reveal it to them ! Hence the Just, redeemed shall live by Faith !

Know this one thing about understanding Rom 4:5

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

It does teach that those Christ died for are in a state of Justification even while naturally in a state of ungodliness! And though they are ungodly in themselves, God for Christ sake counts them righteous! 25

Therefore God Justifies unbelievers !

I know this will draw the opposition of those who oppose the Gospel of Gods Grace, but its true and Rom 4:5 confirms it, that God Justifieth the Ungodly while being so , and so He Justifieth them while unbelievers, for Believers are never called ungodly ! This means that sinners Christ died for are made righteous prior to their believing or personal faith in Christ !

The Free Gift of Justification!

Justification is given to some, Gods Elect as a Free Gift. Rom 5:16
16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

All the Elect whom Christ died for, Received as a Free Gift Justification from all there offences! 25

And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.

In other words what Christ did for the elect He represented resulted in their Justification from all their offences. The word unto is the greek prep eis and means:

a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.)

Just as Adams one act resulted in Judgment/condemnation of many he represented, so likewise Christ's obedience resulted in Justification of those He represented. Not a possible Justification, a made available Justification, a offered Justification, but it resulted in their Justification, and of course Christ's resurrection evidences the same Rom 4:25

If man became a sinner because of one man's disobedience, because mankind was inside Adam in the beginning, in the same way, man became righteous because of the obedience of one man unto justification, because man was "in Christ" at the time of his death, burial, and resurrection.

2Ti 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

Salvation was given to us before the world began. (Only because of his purpose and grace)

The realization of that salvation only comes by hearing the Gospel (good news) by which faith (believing) comes.
