Who Does God Forgive?

I'm asking because I want to know what someone has to do to be forgiven. A place to start might be these words of Peter:

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out... ."

(Acts 3:19)

But no one need limit an answer to that one scripture. I'm thinking God forgives those who repent and believe, so these two actions are required to receive God's forgiveness. If you are interested in hanging out with me awhile, please tell me what you think.

Hello- in 1 John 1:8-10 we read " if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness......"
I think a major key to true repentance is confession.
Repentance itself is a change of mind and behavior, not just saying we are sorry.
It means turning from the way of life that is contrary to God's law to turning to the way of life that is defined by God's law.

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Acts 10:43
To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Anyone that seeks it out and doesn't repeat the same idiotic mistakes. Just like in school, if the authority knows your name, you're not a good person.
