Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Romans 6:13 NLT
Although Paul needed to help the church in Rome sort out their beliefs about Jesus and the ways the Holy Spirit was manifest in their lives, he also had to address their practices. How would the Roman Christians live each day in light of salvation in Christ? Considering that they were no longer dead in their sins, they should live differently because of God’s power in their lives.
Each decision you make is an opportunity to say yes to God and yield to His power in your life…or to offer yourself to the power of evil and sin in your life. Even if you have been saved by faith, your daily decisions matter a great deal in your relationship with God and your ability to glorify Him.
In fact winning glory for God is a great test of your motives and the benefits of your decisions. Are you relying on God’s power as you offer yourself to God’s purposes in your life, or are you clinging to your own plans and desires?
Prayer: Father, help me to give myself wholeheartedly to Your purposes today.
