"White privilege" does not mean that white people have life easy, that we don't work for what we get. It simply means that being white is a in-built advantage in life. From where i am in multicultural London, its hard to argue that it doesn't exist.

I've had long conversations with friends who are black and their experience of life is markedly different to mine. It's very simple things: I can wander around late at night in a hoodie without expecting to be picked up by the police. Black friends of the same age have to be much more careful about how they present themselves.

It's amazing how each person sees things differently. Sometimes as you have said it will have to do with our experiences/upbringing/culture/race, which includes education or the lack thereof as well, amongst so many other variables!

You can gather a group of people who have just witnessed a car accident, and ask each one individually what they saw. Not surprisingly enough, you will find a different telling of what happened for as many people as were there! One may focus on the vehicles, while others the occupants, and even others something else entirely. None of the telling a lie, but also rarely the entire truth of what actually transpired either.

So, my focus now is more narrow then it has been for a long time. Maybe, because as I get older, and see the finality of my time in this World, I look to the promises found in Scripture that explains it through the Hope we have in Jesus. And have myself come to realize that what the World has to offer in all its variety is just a distraction from what is really important. From everlasting to everlasting, and that is as I've said before Jesus Christ!

You may be half right. I know brothers and sisters in the Lord, both black white Asian Latino, who are like-minded and agree wholeheartedly on issues social, political, economic, and educational.
