Where Was God? Part 7

After 28 years at 22 East Mary Lane we now live in a town called Westville. My wife, Bobbie, lost her job at the company she had worked 10 years at. The company picked up and moved to Colorado and the manufacturing over to China. They knew that Bobbie didn’t want to move so they never asked her. Two months before letting her go, she started sending out resumes and a company in Paulsboro, New Jersey picked her up. Bobbie was driving 45 minutes each way, five days a week. We talked and decided that we should move closer to where she was working. That was almost 6 months ago. We bought a place that had two houses on the property with an in ground pool in-between. We have the Big Timber Creek out our back door and I watch the Canadian geese, ducks, Egrets and King Fishers every day as I post the stories and compose letters to friends. I’m in the process of repainting the house we’re living in. I’m sure once this one is done my daughter, who lives in the other house, will want me to repaint hers too.

About 9 months before moving here I received a letter from the doctor who did the Gamma Knife. He stated that people that had the pellets implanted were developing cyst in the areas where they had been implanted. He suggested, very strongly, that I go for an MRI to see if they were forming in my brain. At first I told my wife no, I felt fine. I wasn’t going to go have it done because I really didn’t want to know. After Bobbie brought up the subject, more than I care to say, I finally told her I’d go for the test. The results were to be sent directly to the doctor that requested the test. After having the test, a month later, I called his office. His people told me they never received the results. I called the place where I had it done and was told they didn’t know where to send it to. I asked why they hadn’t called me. I was told they still had my old address and phone number. I drove down there and picked up the MRI and went to the post office and sent it.

A moth later I received a letter for the doctor stating that I didn’t have the cyst. However they saw another Aneurysm and I should contact them. This bothered me because the last one was life threading and what made this one different. I called and spoke to the doctor. He said the Aneurysm was very small, however they could see that it was bleeding in that area. This meant that it had broken and was leaking. He said it wasn’t very bad and I should have it fixed. I told him I’d talk it over with my wife and call him back. Bobbie and I sat down that night and talked. She asked me what I wanted to do. I told her I wasn’t pressing my luck. I’d been through enough and it was time to say No. No more opening blood vessels in my leg and pushing wires up into my brain. If it was my time to go then that’s Gods’ plan. I will live each day as it is my last and God will be in the center of it. I told my wife that I had a very bad feeling about this Aneurysm. Since it was so small they would probably try things differently and something might happen. At least this way I’ll be home and if anything happens we’ll know why and what it is. We both agreed that this was the best.

That was almost 11 months ago, today. Nothing had happened and believe me I’ve pushed myself on more than one occasion. My life is full and I wouldn’t want it any differently. You see, it’s not how much you do that counts. It’s what you do that counts. Just for today I post these stories on different web sites and people are being blessed every day by reading them. I believe that God directed me to find them. Not just any story, but Great Christian stories. All written by people , that I believe, God gave them to. I know that in certain parts of the Bible I’ve never really understood them. A lot of these stories have retold those stories in modern day terms that I understood. After reading them I’d sit back and smile knowing that God had answered questions I asked some time ago about the stories in the Bible. It opened a whole new world for me. I now have friends all over the world that are Christians and enjoy the same things I do. We talk, every day, through the message boards and emails. The whole experience has brought me closer to God and I thank HIM for that. I know I’ll see a lot of you in Heaven one day.

So my advice to you…. Live each day in an attitude of Love. Love one another as Jesus Loves us. HE Loved us so much that HE gave HIS life on The Cross for our Sins. What HE’S done for me, He’ll do for You…
