Where Was God? Part 6

It has now been 15 years and I’m still here. After 14 years I now have stopped taking the depression medicine and I’m doing well without it. About 6 years ago I and a friend were installing a chain link fence on my property and on the second day after working it happened. At bed time as I was lying there trying to go to sleep. The TV timer had gone off and it was dark. I started having pains running down my arm. I thought it was due to all the hard work. I tried to ignore them but they kept getting stronger. I was having a heart attack. I woke my wife, Bobbie, told her what was going on and we dressed and drove to the hospital. They checked me into the emergency room and gave me a nitro pill. The pains didn’t stop so they put me into the ICU where they could monitor me and run test. The first doctor came back and said I hadn’t had a heart attack. I was relieved. Then another doctor came in and said they would be admitting me because I had indeed had a heart attack and needed to see a specialist.

The hospital we went to is a small satellite to a major hospital. They had to open a wing that they had closed and staff it, all because there were no more beds in the main section of the hospital. I sat out in the hall, or I should say lay, for almost 30 minutes before the hospital had called in enough people to manage the new wing. At first I was the only patient they had. That quickly changed. Over the next two hours they filled up that wing too. I spent the rest of the night there and was taken to Our Lady of Lords where they placed me on IV and gave me a medicine to prevent blood clots and thin my blood. They kept me for four days and then went in to put a stint in. When they went in the doctor said that the medicine had worked so good that I didn’t need the stint. Get this, my doctors’ name was Dr. Pain. I didn’t think it was funny and ask him why he had never changed his name. He looked at me funny and ask why.

I went back to another room and stayed the night and was released the next day. On the morning I was told a nurse would be coming to take the IV out and then I could take a shower before leaving. While waiting for the nurse to come and take the IV out I got impatient and took the IV out myself. When the nurse came in I told her someone had already been in and taken it out. No sooner did she leave and Bobbie showed up and we left. Can you guess the first thing I did when I got out??? I lit a cigarette while waiting for Bobbie to get the car.

I went to my family doctor and ask him if it were possible that the cholesterol medicine he had placed me on might have caused the problem. He said no, but I still think to this day that it was the medicine that caused the problem. I have since stopped taking all cholesterol medicine and I haven’t had the arm pain since. I have to add that even after the hospital I continued to have the arm pain. After a period of six months not taking that medicine the pain stopped. My doctor has since run a test to see if the medicine had damaged my muscles. I report a clean bill of health. All I could think of is that God had something planned for me and I just hadn’t realized it yet. It’s been 6 years and no more pains.

I believe I mentioned the Left Behind books. Well, I have read every one of them and have enjoyed them all. They led me to Cloud Ten Productions. They made the movie Left Behind. After seeing the movie on tape I found their web site and started going there. I have to add here that during a period of four years I searched the Internet looking for inspirational stories. By the time I found Cloud Ten web site I had collected over 300 of the best stories around. I next became a member of their Message Board and started posting the stories. Everyone loved them and soon I drew the attention of Cloud Tens’ public relations man. I can’t give out his name due to respect to him or his email address. He emailed me and ask me a few questions. He also ask me to send him the stories via email. By this time I had a few people that had contacted me and ask that they too get the stories via email. They said that they had limited time on their computers and wanted to be able to print them out and read them at their own leisure. Day by day my email list grew and I learned how to send out a mailing without showing everyone’s email address. The stories now go out and each person gets their own personalized email and they can’t see the other people I send them to. Back to the P.R. man.. I and my wife were invited to visit the movie production company in Canada. Bobbie and I hadn’t been on a vacation in a long time, so we planned a trip that summer to Canada and to visit Cloud Ten Pictures. I emailed the P.R. man and he emailed me his phone number and said to call him when we crossed the border.

Three weeks later I called him and we set up for the following day to go there and have a tour. After arriving at Cloud Ten Bobbie and I rode the elevator up to the main floor. When we got off we entered the main reception room. The receptionist ask us to please wait and called, I’ll call him Tom, and told him we were here. He told her to tell us he’d be right out. Tom came out and we shook hands and then Tom walking us around the building. Tom stopped at every office that had people in them and introduce us to them. Many of them said they already knew me from the stories flying around the building. I hadn’t realized how many people were reading the stories but never responding. Tom called his personal assistant and ask him to take us through another section of the building. Tom said he had to make a phone call and would be right back. As we went on I saw a man walking out of one of their break rooms. He was carrying a bowl of Pop Corn. The assistant laughed and introduced us to Mr. Van Heerden, we laughed and chatted for a while and then Mr. Heerden left. Tom came up the hall and waved to us. We walked toward him and he said that there was no filming going on in the studio so we’d head back to his office. Once there Tom handed his assistant a box and told him to go into the shipping room and fill it. LOL Not only did we get all Cloud Tens’ movies, we got posters, pictures AND Mr. Heerden had gone back to his office and signed one of the original scripts for the movie Judgment and given it to me. If there were one place on this earth that I would love to work it would be Cloud Ten. The people there were great and you could feel the love. I thanked Tom and he said it was he that needed to thank me. Thank me for helping make the message board a great place to visit and join. Plus for all the stories that have helped and continue to help others every day. Bobbie and I left Cloud Ten on Cloud Nine. I felt God working there that day. We enjoyed the rest of the week sightseeing and drove back home that weekend. We have since enjoyed all the movies and books. I continue to post and support Cloud Ten web site. May God Bless their work just as HE is doing at this Message Board.

After all I’ve been through, there’s more…
