"Then the LORD said to him, 'Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. Act 7:33 NLT

As Stephen explained his ministry to a hostile crowd, he looked back at the calling of a great leader of the Israelites: Moses had been initially rejected by his people, so Stephen hoped that his audience would reconsider their rejection of Jesus. After all, the Jewish people had eventually recognized God's calling on Moses.

While you're aware that Stephen's sermon failed to touch the hearts of his audiences--at least immediately--his message may help you to take a step forward today. Just as Moses felt like the least qualified person to speak up for God's people, you may feel unqualified for the challenges before ypu or the ministry burden on your heart. Any move of God will encounter resistance. From Moses to Stephen, this was the case.

Whether or not you can remain faithful to your mission depends on whether you were truly called by God. Are you certain He has anointed you and sent you? That may well be the one thing that carries you through the resistance and struggles that will come.

Prayer: Lord, give me the courage to go where You have called me.
