Imagine the body of Christ was an army (we are), and imagine the metaphor of modern warfare.
In an army soldiers can be in many different roles.
Some as reconnaissance (scouts)
Some are the foot soldiers (infantry)
Some are the medics (healing wounder soldiers)
Others control the heavy artillery and others the battle tank,
Others are generals and others teach the new recruits back at the base,
and other create the weapons. Etc, etc, etc, I think you get the point.
Now with the analogy of an army, where are you in the body of Christ???
For me, I see myself as a medic in the army and also a part of the army war band.
As a medic I see myself supporting others who have been hurt and wounded by the battle scars
and bullets of the enemy which impact their mental and spiritual health. I support through my career as
a mental health therapist/Christian counselor,
As a part of the army band, playing as the army marches into battle; I do this as I minister with music at my church
ushering people into the presence of God where they are drawn closer to repent of sin, worship God, and
continue the spiritual fight.
How about you, what part of God's army do you see yourself in? (Using the modern warfare metaphor).
