Now she is doing well and the police found the car undamaged after3 days with only an empty gas tank. That hurt a bit as we had just filled it up prior to it being taken. But...
I know what the loss of a car can do to an older couple. Some young buck destroyed my only car. Without going to the bank, it took me a year to get a car and get it onto the road...After the insurance company ripped me off. It does hurt. I'm sorry for what you went through my friend.
It was devastating at the moment as we were 60 miles from home and the car had been parked by a valet service. My wife had pneumonia while we were sitting in a lobby waiting on the building manager, the valet manager and finally the police to take their reports and do their things. After 4 hours while someone tried to get us a car rental unsuccessfully they brought in an uber to get us home. They promised us a car the next day. It was at the end of the 3rd day we got the rental. On the evening of the 4th day the police called us to say that had located our car.
That's either hell on wheels or a wonderful learning experience...I hope the later.
It was at least God who allowed us to learn from it. It could have been much worse. The police told us it was unlikely we'd ever see the car again, or if we did, it would have been not worth having. We were on the very highest end of what was to be expected. Is that not a reason to thank God...?
