This is a little ditty should explain much. It would be far easier to change my position but then what credibility would I have, not just to myself but to all those who have relied on my approach to helping them heal.
pagan in itself is easily explained via the dictionary we have become so complacent that even the simplest things have become difficult. In the dictionary immediately following the word’s break-down usually in parentheses is the root meaning of the word. That followed by the present understanding of the word then slang terms. Thus pagan looks like this.
pagan, pa'gan, n. [L. paganus, a peasant, from pagus, a village or country district; comp. origin of heathen. Akin peasant.]
The root origin of the word has been warped with paganism which is the religion of peasants ( created by the druids and temple priests to control the farmers - the peasants of the time - through fear and superstition ) and paganist or one who practices paganism.
n. = noun; L. = Latin; comp. = compare
The mystics this was twisted at its origin by applying secondary meanings from this adjective form to the noun form. Although it comes from Latin, mysticus or Greek, mystikos both adjectives it does have a definition as a noun under mysticism.
mystic, n. One who is unreasonably obsessed with mysticism.
mysticism, mis' ti.sizm, n. Views or tendencies in spirituality which aspire toward a communication between man and his Maker through the inward perception of the mind, more direct than that which is afforded to us through revelation; a seeking to solve the mysteries of existence by internal illumination or special revelation; a dreamy contemplation on ideas that have no foundation in human experience In its true definition there are 3 points :
1st, the motivation of a true Christian through their absolute faith in their Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
2nd, that's simple, philosopher
3rd, just as easy, children in fact the bible in the New Testament does eluded to this: Matthew 18:3
The intent in perverting this meaning was important to the druids and temple priests because with this influence (the mystics) inside the general population their grip on power would be fleeting so using fear and superstition they tried to expose the enlightened members of society. It failed, the pressure forced the mystics from their home villages onto the frontier where they could seek the enlightenment they desired. As they travelled the acquired knowledge which they used to help the sick and suffering so their healing practices were earth based and not based on sorcery and incantations practised by the druids. It is at this point where it is believe they encountered Christ's followers and disciples introducing Christianity to central, western and north western Europe just prior to the Crusades. As I said it is only believed that the mystics brought the beginning of Christianity to north and central Europe due to the lack of written languages at the time just don't under-estimate the power of faith and the loyal servants of Jesus Christ for we will carry the word of our Saviour to all nation of the world. This goes directly to my belief that I am a Christian and not religious ... the difference is black and white.
Since pagan simply means peasant in Latin & mystic is often used in its adjective form but it is also a noun. In this particular case it is the latter. Therefore the title I was given is peasant healer.
When I was younger I was rescuing street kids, I did that for about 6 years. My third rescue at one point in time, I had 2 in my home, the one I targeted for rescue wouldn't go without her friend. We picked up the second one and headed out of the area. They were detoxed together. Now when I was doing this I would work 6-8 months and be at home for 6 to 8 months. Because these were kids outside the system I had no financial support so that period was tight. During the first few weeks detoxing they found my dictionary, the older one being a Goth was fascinated by word usage so she started looked up what she thought were good Goth words. The first 2 were pagan & druid and she found an inconsistency in the definitions. Since the interest start was kindled I got books from the library so she could continue the research, it worked in addition, she perked the interest in the younger one. I needed to keep them divert from their old life. I used it to change their focus, as their fascination increased so did their openness about their past (now don’’t get me wrong it was far more difficult than this would appear. Anyone who has worked with street kids can attest to that). I also had a couple of psychologists who volunteered some time to work with the people I rescued. With all these factors in place they became receptive to adult authority reordering their lives. This I also took advantage of and turned their not so little research project anymore, into a makeshift school project, to prepare them for just that. They were getting English, spelling, European geography & medieval history as well as studying skills. From here, with the history of the girls known the older one went home. The younger one went to a local foster home that I was allowed to approve. The transfer to my local child protective services for reintegration was particularly difficult because I had them for more than a year. The longest I ever had street kids and probably the single most successful conversion I had. When it was time to leave they gave me the research they had done and the title pagan mystic. This is the readers digest version of the work they had done. The mystics were basically outcasts from their villages or tribes, being more intuitive and caring to the point where they were a threat to the Druids (a cult-like order using black masses, blood sacrifices & sorcery) and temple priests, and their ability to manipulate the peasant population using fear and superstition (paganism the religion of peasants), so they were driven out of their homes and hunted down (obviously there were only a small number per tribe or village). By this time the Roman Empire had expanded north. The temple priests that were allied to the Druids were likely Roman because they exhibited signs of Baal worship, which the Apostle Paul made clear in a couple of his trips to Rome. He told the Romans he was looking for those citizens that were untouched by Baal worship to learn of Christ's Ministry. While this was going on in Europe the Israelites and early Christians where venturing north with the Europeans heading south in small numbers. Now, with the mystics wandering the frontier fearful for their lives, it appears that it was them that made first contact with the early Christians. This lends credibility to the fact that the earliest European Christians where the mystics, as they were alone or in small numbers and eager to learn. The Christians and Jews having been warned to be weary of the pagan hordes (the peasants to the north being uneducated and superstitious made them unpredictable, it would be easy to understand why the pagans [or peasants] would attack strangers when they were in mass), All this made learning and exchanging information easier. Since record keeping was sparse and the Druids controlled most of the organizing of Europe, they just simply tainted the demeanor of the mystics and with Roman assistance they hoped finding the mystics would be easier. Ooh, well, that went as well as the Romans wiping out the Christians. As they became more settled after detoxing we use to joke about me being a peasant since finances were tight. I did make small amounts of money on donation for helping others make lifestyle changes. As with themselves, they were fascinated with how easily I could reach out to others and win them over. These two saw how in touch I with myself, but it never seemed to be enough, they commented from time to time that they didn’t understand what else I could want. To this day I yearn to understand more and that ability of mine is still with me. So equating me with a mystic was not a stretch either. It was not’t long after that they began using the title of pagan mystic to refer to me.
I have taken a lot of flack for this nic and it shows the state of so called Christians today, Look at yourself first Matthew7:1&2 Judge not, that ye not be judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged and what mete, it shall be measured to you again... and most people still think ignorance is bliss.
