What you won't hear from the Health and Wealth Preachers

Sue that was beautiful, maybe I was not clear, I believe in healing and miracles today, when God wants to use them. But it is no way the same as the gifts that he gave Peter and the apostles IMO. Nobody today has those types of gifts to use on a regular basis to show the power of God. Why did God give those gifts to the apostles of that day because Peter could heal anyone at any time, I know of no one that can do that since the apostles, or is it talked about in scripture that I know of. Was it to help start the church and bring in believers that see the power of God at work.

@Dave M
You mean the difference as in

And He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all the demons and to heal diseases. Luke 9:1

verses

The Day of Pentecost mentioned in Acts 2

Correct?

Mark 16:17; These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:18; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

James 5:14; Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
James 5:15; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.
James 5:16; Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

1 Cor 12:4; Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1 Cor 12:5; And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.
1 Cor 12:6; There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.
1 Cor 12:7; But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
1 Cor 12:8; For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;
1 Cor 12:9; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
1 Cor 12:10; and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.
1 Cor 12:11; But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.

If you've never seen a miracle of healing, I might suggest you try a different church.

Stephen was not an apostle.. but yet he did miracles, great wonders, and signs among the people ( Acts 6:8; )

How about Barnabas? he wasn't one of the original 12. (Really Paul wasn't either) ( Acts 14:14; )

@Dave M
You welcome brother.
The term some might use now a days as a method of explaining it would "a different anointing".
I read somewhere that it was suggested that one of the prerequisites for an Apostle to be chosen after the ascension of our Lord Jesus was if they personally had known/met Him. Don't quote me on that, because I really don't remember where I read it and never did research to see if there is historical evidence to support it. Maybe, some of other Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus might know more on the subject and might share it here.

As always dear brother.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Thank you. Glory to God. I don't know the answer to those questions. I need to read more on this subject.

BAC said " If you've never seen a miracle of healing, I might suggest you try a different church." I know its a long thread and was not sure if you were talking to me and if you had read the entire thread

post 188 I said
absolutely healing occurs in my church as well, I never said anything different so not sure whats your point,

2Pe 2:3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed. (NLT)

Isnt an apostle like a missionary. To take the gospel to those whos never heard it before?
Healing still happens today and people still have spritual gifts i know cos I am healed.

In book of acts it was simon the sorcerer who tried to buy the holy spirit but the holy spirit is priceless and can never be bought nor sold.

I think today because people get excited over signs and wonders, people like simon the sorcerer still exist trying to undermine the church and make money off it.

Dave I'm calling you out on this YOU are in direct disobedience to the Word posting this...There is no place in the entire bible that tells you to name names...It says to stand against false teaching..But it does not say to name anybody as a false teacher or false prophet! Get in line with the Word!! Frankly...If you claim the Word tells you to name names I'm saying that YOU are a false teacher.
