What right do we have to demand from God

Not something that I'd do

Modern definition of the word as found per Google.

  • de·mand/diˈmand/
    • Noun:
      • An insistent and peremptory request, made as if by right.
    • Verb:
      • Ask authoritatively or brusquely.

One use of the word in scripture: Demand
πυνθάνομαι:
  1. to enquire, ask
  2. to ascertain, by enquiry

Another use of the word:
ἐπερωτάω
  1. to accost one with an enquiry, put a question to, enquiry of, ask, interrogate
  2. to address one with a request or demand
    • to ask of or demand of one

There is no biblical evidence that I can find to support the idea that we are to 'demand' anything of God. Especially not a good idea when your demanding that God follow through on some promise that he never actually made. Many will hear 'depart from me you worker of iniquity'.

"Wealth" is a relative term. My pastor says that if you have any money in your pocket/purse, you're richer than 75% of the rest of the world. People we see as "poor" in the western world would probably be considered rich, for instance, in sub-Saharan Africa. Being wealthy is not sinful, greed - love of money - is sinful (1 Tim 6:9-10). Also, unless you're a farmer who grows his own foodstuffs, money is usually the means by which the food God supplies comes to your table in the 21st century.

i hear you. however i have been homeless and seen first hand how without money God still provides. and even though you do have somewhat of a point you havent quoted a scripture that defies what i said in an earlier post. food and clothes is all i find promised. not money.
also i wasnt saying money is bad. did i come across that way?
