This theme runs throughout Galatians. Paul is rebuking them for starting their walk by faith and then adding to it requirements of the law. From what I have read, some scholars think that Jews from Jerusalem had come up to distort the gospel and tell them they also had to follow the law.

If you aren't showing any works or fruit, that's proof the faith didn't take.

Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.

James was simply pointing out that true faith in Christ produces godly works; he did not imply that we were saved by them.

We are saved by grace through faith. These works are not ours, (those reek of the flesh), but when being led by the Spirit they are a natural outflow of being filled by Him. The works of God are always the expression of the One whose temple we have become. So, acceptable works are fruit of these branches only as the life of heaven's Vine flows in and through us. Take away all our works and by faith in the work of Christ we shall still be saved.

1Co 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.


Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

God gave us a complete analysis of this discussion to eliminate any confusion:

Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Tit 3:8 This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

So my friends, let us walk as our perfect example Jesus did, (He, though being God walked as a man to show what a man could and should do walking in communion with the Father). The works we do are not to be \ our own but are the Father's works (Eph 2:10) , only speaking His Words , only done as the Holy Spirit leads, and even then only power of the Holy Spirit.)
Anything else is just flesh and will be consumed as wood, hay and stubble (the works of the flesh).

It is interpreted by considering verse 2 "This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith? ".

They received the Spirit by hearing with faith but now they wanted to make themself perfect by works of the Law. They wanted to be right with God by depending on their self keeping the old testament law by their flesh. It is by the hearing of faith that we receive the Spirit so we must seek hearing of faith and not works of law.

I broke my ankle once very bad! I said LORD You going to heal this or not ? He said ? You going to walk in faith or not ?
I had to take three very painful steps before i was healed ! It still looked just as bad ! But was perfectly healed , no pain no problems ! the just live by Faith ! Not Sight ! It took a few days too look normal again !

What then does he mean in verse 9 when he writes that a Christian does not and cannot sin? An examination of his expressions will tell us. He uses three.

First, he says that the Christian who lives in Christ does not continue to sin (6a and 5:18, harmartanei); this is a present tense, indicating a settled character like that of 'the devil' who 'has been sinning from the beginning' (8) Cf. harmartanōn, a present participle, in verse 6b, whereas the verbs in 2:1 are both aorists.

The second statement is that he who has been born of God will not continue to sin (hamartian ou poiei, 9a). Again, it is not the isolated act of sin which is envisaged, but the settled habit of it, indicated by the verb poiein, to do or to practice, which is used of 'doing' sin in verses 4a 8 and 9, of 'doing' lawlessness in verse 4b, and of 'doing' righteousness in 2:29; 3:7; 10a.

The third expression is that the Christian 'cannot go on sinning' ( (ou dynatai hamartanein, 9), where 'to sin' is a present, not an aorist, infinitive. If the infinitive had been an aorist it would have meant 'he is not able to commit a sin'; the present infinitive, however, signifies 'he is not able to sin habitually'. In this whole section John is arguing rather the incongruity than the impossibility of sin in the Christian. If even isolated sins are incongruous, what is utterly impossible is persistence in sin, 'a character, a prevailing habit, and not primarily and act' (Westcott).

the law (flesh), and obedience to Christ via the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Self righteous acts hold no pay dirt, nor do futile attempts to obey rules
or commands (works of the carnal mind). We are justified and sanctified
only in and through Christ. This is the spiritual revelation of the scripture.

We may never boast but in the death and resurrection of our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ. The command to Love others never will be obeyed
from the carnal thought process. Love for others stems from God within!

Do I totally misunderstand your use of the word 'interpret'? I mean its written in English, you speak English....Whats the need to interpret? Can't you just take it as its written?

Our Flesh is NEver Perfected!

Here you are showing your unbelief. The flesh is dead in Christ in Christ the flesh cannot sin because it is dead. We don't live by the flesh, but by the Spirit. Jesus didn't live and die so the flesh in us can live but it is crucified in Christ, only through unbelief can it be resurrected.

that scripture is 100% TRUTH ! He does NOT gethrer the ashes or dust up and make anything out of it !

This scripture is telling us ? Our flesh body is dead spiritually to GOD , it has No eternal life ! But the New Spirit He makes us is perfect !

Rom_8:10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

1Co_15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
This scripture reveals it Only the Spiritual body , He raises !

This scripture again reveals No flesh body goes to heaven [New Jerusalem ] nothing that can be corrupted gets eternal life ! It reveals our flesh cannot . But our perfect spirit , which cannot be corrupted does !

1Co_15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.


This scripture reveals ? Everything we see is but for a short time !Nothing We see with our natural eyes is eternal !
Everything we see will be gone one day 100%

The only things that are eternal ? are the things we Do Not SEE !

Our interpretation of sinful flesh differs. My interpretation is that sinful flesh is our natural desire to sin and the only way to overcome that natural desire is to have it crucified in Christ. If it is crucified or put to death it cannot sin.

Paul understood , the flesh wanted to sin !He His spirit did not want to ever Sin !

It was a daily battle keeping the weak flesh in check !

We who are born of GOD ? Try hard not to sin !We hate sin ! We being the new creature with in [Our Spirit man]

First we must read and start living GOD living Words !
