John 19:34 - 34 One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out.
I have never understood the significance behind that verse, So i was hoping that someone would help me understand the symbolic meaning behind the blood and water that came out of Jesus's side when He was pierced. One thing i could think of is that it is perhaps a miracle that blood still came out of His body even though He had been dead for some time, because of scripture i believe that perhaps some time passed (perhaps an 1hr or 2 or more) from the time that Jesus died and the time that the roman soldier pierced His side and as perhaps some of us know blood usually hardens after just a few minutes of death because the heart is no longer pumping the blood, where as the water flowing out i have no idea? Someone please help.
Also since it was the passover the Jewish leaders wanted to kill those crucified much quicker than usual, why is that?
