If we die in Christ, the resurrection concerns our mortal bodies being raised, once perishable at our death but now immperisgable for all eternity. If we are here on earth during the Rapture, we, who are Christian, will not experience death or resurrection, we are "transformed" instanly into our heavenly bodies.
If anyone disagrees, I welcome your opinion but, please no name calling or accuations that I am not a Christian or slander the Lord in some way. Just state your case and present scriptures as I have, thank you!
  • 1 Thessalonians 4: 14-18 "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus". Whether one believes this is the 2nd coming or the rapture, the point is made that there are those who come with Jesus to be united with their bodies. Since the dead rise first and those who are alive don't receive a resurrection but a transformation. Vs.15-16 "For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first". Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." Where is Jesus coming from? Heaven. If Jesus is bringing some people with him and they don't have resurrected bodies yet, doesn't this mean they are immaterial spirits. What dead are rising? Certainly this are not those who are alive and remain. The dead are those who bodies are put to sleep.
  • This is exactly what Paul explains in 1 Corinthians 15 : 52-54 "52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. Paul explains the body in vs.35-49 vs.42 so is the resurrection of the dead. The BODY is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption." So resurrection refers to the human body not the soul or spirit, it is the body that sleeps and will be resurrected.
  • As for as the Spirit, Paul says it best in 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
  • So dont dispare, to die and be out of the body, doesn't mean you go to some form of limbo or sleep, it means you are with Jesus and have or will recieve you heavenly body just as God promised!

Apostle Paul in 1 Cor.15 disagrees with your treatise. The resurrection body he revealed there is the "spiritual body", not another new flesh body like some false reincarnation doctrine from the Far East.

  • Why must you insist on putting words in my mouth and saying false things I never said.
  • I never said the dead before us get a new flesh body, why would you say such false things about what I say?
  • I will qoute the scripture again: 1 Corinthians 15: 52-54......in a moment, in the blinking of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.
  • I have always said that the body ( the dead before us) will be raised first and be raised as a new spiritual, heavenly body...just like resurrected body of Jessus, as he revealed to us.
  • What purpose would you have in changing that to something totally different and false.
  • You have done this before, what hidden ahenda do you have here to say lies about me? It is not Christian like!

I love it! We have no real concept what possibilities await us. But we know this:
  • 1 John 3:2
  • 1 Corinthians 15:49
  • 2 Corinthians 5:4-5
  • 1 Corinthians 15:44
Jesus showed us the way. We will know everyone just like the Apostles recognized Jesus in his heavenly body. Probably one of the reasons it is called heaven.

Why do you remain untruthful, even with your supposed righteous attacks at those like me who REVEAL your errors in Biblical understanding?

You said in your Post #1:
"So resurrection refers to the human body not the soul or spirit, it is the body that sleeps and will be resurrected."

THAT... is... the idea of thinking our flesh is what is resurrected. It is NOT the "spiritual body" concept that Apostle Paul taught in 1 Corinthians 15. You were even emphatic that it's about 'flesh' with your phrase "refers to the human body not the soul or spirit".

Apostle Paul was NOT speaking of a flesh body when he taught the change to the "spiritual body" in 1 Cor.15. That is also why he said this...

1 Cor.15
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Flesh body (or "human body") = "corruption"
"spiritual body" = "incorruption"

1 Cor.15
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Your unbelievable:
  • Obviously don't even know the scripture that you use for your rant.

  1. It is All about the body...the perishable raised to be unperishable. You don't even understand that the spirit is not perishable. At resurrection the spirit is already with the Lord; it is the body that is raised from the grave not the spirit. The spirit is not raised (reurrected), it already is and is with God at the time of resurrection. The body is raised (resurrected) and joined with the spirit to form the "Spiritual or Heavenly Body". Those saints, who are still alive at the time, are not resurrected, they don't die, they are transformed into a spiritual body.
  2. I say again, fasely you say, I said something about the "Fleshy Body" at resurrection. You use this term to support your accusation but, Please show me where I said anything about a fleshy body....you can't because you're the one who manufactured those words and some how miraculously say these words are mine to justify yourself. I did not say that and do not believe it!
  3. Please stop the false accusations! And learn your scripture!

You show your understanding is like Nicodemus in John 3 when he asked Jesus "can a man enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"

Jesus said...

John 3
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Those are two distinct and separate operations. Flesh does NOT = spirit, nor does spirit = flesh.

Even early on in Eccl.12:5-7 we were shown this. At flesh death our flesh goes back to the earthly matter where it came from. It breaks down, back into material matter. But our spirit goes back to God Who gave it. That spirit part is our spiritual body with soul, the part of us that Jesus said don't fear those who can kill you flesh, but not your soul, but fear Him Who can destroy both body (spirit body) and soul in hell (lake of fire).

The resurrection means the casting off of the flesh of this world for those still alive on earth at Christ's coming. It is then when our spiritual body that was there in our flesh all the time, will be revealed in the Heavenly order, which is why Paul said, "And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly (1 Cor.15).

  • That is so rediculous, it is hard to respond to such nonsense.
  • You carry on to obviously give yourself some sort of credibilty.
  • You have no credibilty, because first, you use John 3 completely wrong and second, you falsely accuse me again for a term that I did not nor have not used in any of my post.
  • The term flesh, you have manufactured as some distorted excuse to bolster your idiotic stance.
  • I have always that maintained that the resurrected or spiritual body is a Heavenly Body witnessed to us by Jesus; I have emphasised body, but in no way have I ever use the term flesh. You are the only one to use that term.
  • Again, I challenge you to show proof of where I used that term. Again, you can not because it is another of your untruths! Why do you persist in your slanerous actions?
  • Matthew 12:36
  • Exodus 20:16
  • Proverbs 11:9

Wow....

Romans 8
10 And if Christ [be] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin; but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

He shall quicken, AKA raise from the dead, our mortal bodies when he comes, by his Spirit. Not our spirits... Our spirits are already quickened, if we are born again. Are future spiritual bodies are similar to our current mortal bodies, these tents we live in. When Jesus was raised from the dead, he still had a body like ours, but innumerably better. Better because it is immortal, spiritual (as opposed to the carnal, sinful bodies we live in now). He does not have blood running through his veins. If he had blood running through his veins, he would not still have a hole in his side you could put your hand into, it would have healed up. But I'm digressing too much.

Body, means body, not something esoteric like another name for our spirits. It means physical, tangible, touchable body. Body.

Point being... nohype... you have some seriously strange doctrines. Where are you getting this junk from?

What is ridiculous is thinking that the resurrection is about a new flesh body. That's the belief of reincarnation, not Bible doctrine. That's why Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor.15 that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. By denial of that per Paul, you show you don't heed what he said.

  • Again, for the umpteenth time, stop saying lies and associating me with saying that the "resurrection is about flesh"
  • You discraceful and as for as I am concerned, you are no Christian for the continuous barraige of lieing insults.
  • Please, again and again, I ask you to show proof where I said that and since you can't, button up and move on to falsely harassing someone else, if you must do that sort of thing!
