What is His Righteousness?

Remembering our own righteousness (Isa. 64:6) what is the righteousness of God? I would like scriptural evidence, this is important to me. Everyone can share. All through the ages we have been made to think a certain way in relation to Spiritual issues but if Isa. 55:8 is valid then I think we might be missing something.

Righteousness of God is mercy of God

Righteousness of God refers to gratuitous gift of His salvation through the loving mercy of God. Read Romans 3 :21-26, Paul says the righteousness of God is revealed to us through Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ alone make us righteous before God.

What is the Righteousness of God

the Righteousness of God is part of His character. (KJV) Righteous [art] thou, O LORD, and upright [are] thy judgments Thy testimonies [that] thou hast commanded [are] righteous and very faithful. psalm 119 v 137-138 (NLT) O Lord, you are righteous,
and your decisions are fair.

they are entirely worthy of our trust.

(KJV) His work [is] honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD [is] gracious and full of compassion.
psalm 111 v 3-4
(NLT) 3-4 Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.
His righteousness never fails.

Who can forget the wonders he performs?
How gracious and merciful is our Lord!

Righteous means to be right.

The unrighteousness of man is spoken of in scriptures like Isaiah 64: 6. & Psalm 51:5 Romans 3: 9-18 to name but a few. As the above scriptures testify man is unrighteous by nature and has a tendency towards sin. That is why Isaiah 55:8 is the truth concerning man, by default man cannot have the same thoughts and ways as God. God is holy, righteous and good. Man is sinful, unrighteous and corrupt. So there is no way man's ways and thoughts are going to be like God's because they are exact opposites in nature.

To be righteous simple means to be right. To be righteous before God means to be in right standing before him. It means that God is able to look into your heart and see nothing but divine glory and light. This righteousness is a free gift of God's grace in Christ. See Romans 3:19-23 & 5:17. When a man receives the free gift of God's grace in Christ, by faith, he is declared the righteousness of God in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21. The person who has had this experiences is now able to know God's ways and God's thoughts because he shares the same divine nature.

I believe being righteouss simply means to believe in God's promises.

What makes God righteouss?

God made the promises, therefore He is righteouss, He holds the truth, it comes from Him in His awesome power and love. To understand what makes God righteouss is to believe in Him, believe that He holds nothing less than the truth, that He is a living God, that He speaks to us daily, that we have to believe in Him daily.

Romans 8:29-30
"The work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever."
