A Jewish Rabbi counted 248 Commandments and 365 Prohibitions in the Scripture.

David in Psalm 15 brought it down to just 11, and Micah to only 3.

But the prophet Habakkuk put the rules of life altogether in one: “The just shall live by faith.” Hab 2: 4

Later another Jewish Scholar with the most penetrating mind of his day saw that Habakkuk had hit on the central fact of life.

The Apostle Paul wrote half the New Testament around that discovery: Hab 2:4 Rom 1:17 2Cor 5:7 Gal 2:20 Gal 3:11 Heb 1:3.

What is faith?

The easiest thing in human experience: Slip your hand into the hand of Jesus! It is a childlike.

With faith, everything we do is significant, as I see it

Be blessed.....in Jesus

Wonderful way to explain it Stephen.

I remember my husband had a friend that came over to our house. As he approached me he said, "Trish you know I have been trying to start a fight with you over your belief. I fight all the time with the Jehovah witness and others that comes to my door, and I get them mad on purpose, I think it is funny. I have been trying to do this to you since I got here, and you just didn't fight, why."

I told him, "Well, if I could I would take your hand and put it in the hand of Jesus; but the thing is, I can't do it for you, you have to make that choice for yourself and do it."

Stephen it is as simple as that isn't it, "slip your hand right into Jesus' hand.

God Bless, Trish

Hallelujah Stephen and Trishann! Religion says "walk like Jesus" but HolySpirit says "just walk with Jesus".

That's good, jiggyfly. I like that!

It is interesting to note that the Bible states in Hebrews11:1, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Therefore, what is true is that “faith” has SUBSTANCE to it and EVIDENCE for it. Our faith is not based on some wish so, hope so, feelings of ……… etc., etc. No sir! Biblical FAITH has provable and demonstrable “evidence” and “substance.” BLESSINGS. Doc

Greetings,

I know that from a dad's perspective, having that little hand in yours is precious.

Bless you ....><>

Faith is the law of the new covenant. Faith is the law of the Kingdom of Heaven. Faith is a Spirit. What ever is not of Faith is a sin.

faith is simply trust and belief, look it up. if Adam and Eve trusted the Word of God the commandment the agreement, the covenant (by the way which is the same thing as the Torah, which is the agreement, covenant) then things would be different. no one deliberately dies for their own benefit, therefore A&E didn't believe they would die, and believed as the serpent said. they trusted words other than the Word of God. hence death and condemnation comes to the man his wife and all that receive the life they had after the incident at the tree. because they believed and trust something other than the Word of God. now restoration to the Life, now even eternal life A&E had before the tree incident, is through faith, belief and trust in the Word of God.

don't make faith to mean what it really doesn't mean to fit some goofy religious genre. the "law of faith' is simply trusting and believing something and reaping the results thereof just as the "law of faith" did for A&E. they believe and trusted something other than the Word of God a reaped the results thereof.

trust and or believe a scammer or con, and you reap the result, that is the "law of faith" believe and trust in Jesus Christ and reap the result that is also the "law of faith".

Greetings,

Faith is a Spirit.

As in 2Corinthians 4:13 ?
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

2Corinthians 4
1Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
6For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. 11For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 12So then death worketh in us, but life in you. 13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
14Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
