This also is called Abraham's bosom, and was divided into two compartments. One compartment was paradise and the other was hell. They remain there until resurrected to go into the earthly kingdom.

[Revelation 6:9 KJV] "And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:" ********* The slain saints of Israel are in the temple in heaven. They will be resurrected to enter the holy city, the new Jerusalem.
The old testament Jewish saints went to Abraham's bosom awaiting resurrection, while the saints that die in the tribulation go to the temple in heaven
