In context... what does verse 29 mean? Or better yet, how are we to apply verse 29 towards? In context, is it about salvation by believing in Jesus Christ since we have obtained mercy by believing?

Romans 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father's sakes.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

Here is a link that shows other Bible versions to help me understand verse 29 better.

Romans 11:29 Multiple Bible versions

29 For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. NLT

29 for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. NIV

29 God never changes his mind about the people he calls and the things he gives them. NCV

29 For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of. ASV

29 For the gifts and the calling of God are not subject to repentance. DARBY

There is more, but I believe I got the meaning now.

The Lord led me to the answers I had sought.

Thank you Lord Jesus !!!!:grinning:

Oh.. As I understand it, God is not an Indian Giver that He would take back the free gift of salvation. He will never null & void the calling of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
