So in thinking about your question, without really researching, what immediately comes to mind (on the surface)
would be for example a situation in which someone is unable to fulfill such duties.
(1) The husband is in the hospital and has a brain injury.
(2) The mother is a single mother and has to be head of household
(3) Husband has impairments, he is always drunk with alcohol and his judgment can't be trusted.
(4) The wife clearly has certain gifts in certain areas by God which it benefits the family by the husband allowing her to lead in that area.
For example as
@B-A-C spoke of with finances. If a wife has a masters in business and the husband has barely a high school diploma.
I think it make sense for her to lead in that area because it is her strength. Even so, some woman are great with cars and can change the oil.
While it is traditional for men to do such duties (change the oil, do the heavy lifting), if a lady was physically strong and her husband weak,
it makes sense for her to use her gifts for the benefits of the marriage.
Obviously there is a difference between what you do and who is in charge, as
@B-A-C said.
So just because parents might let their high school genius child do their taxes because the child is smart, doesn't mean the child is in control.
Overall my point of the video was that we are all called to submit. Submission is not to the person but to God.
This keeps us all humble.
The father is called to submit to the wife through servant leadership putting her needs first(as Christ did for the church)
and the wife is to submit and let him lead.
If he is a good leader he will value his wives input and make her a partner in the decision as the co-equal and joint heir with Christ
that she is. Overall the focus is unity. Oneness. However order is needed so that things run smoothly. It is smoother when there is a chain
of command, ask anyone in the military. The husband however, is called to be a servant leader, not a dictator as the world sees it.
A car has a steering wheel and an engine. A steering wheel is not more important than the engine just because it is leading the direction.
They both work as one. The steering wheel can point in a certain direction but if the engine doesn't give power, you won't get to the destination.
A car requires the steering wheel and the engine to work together. There is order but it is for the purpose of unity and oneness.
