Hi all,

In our process of growing to become a mature believer through the study of the Word of God (the Scriptures), we often discover new things that we either have not thought about before, or really, The Holy Spirit opened our understanding to a passage or concept that we have read before, but were limited in our understanding.

I think one thought/concept per week is a good pace (extremely good for me personally ). So I am eager to learn from what all of you discover week-by-week.

I hope this thread can become a sticky one day, because all of us contributed what we learn continually.

Also, I encourage opening a new thread if questions are raised from one of the post in this thread. That way this thread can become a useful directory for people who for example are looking for weekly Bible Study topics.

I learned two things from these two verses.

Only good heart can accept word of God
Luke 8:15
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

When we speak something we say things that our heart is full of it.
Luke 6:45
A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of

Drink, Don't Just Taste

I learned something this week from my Bible studying that came to me during my reading about the woman at the well. A lot of my friends have tasted the Good News, but have not drank of it.

The whole idea of tasting something is that you will eventually reject or accept it. But, when you drink something down, you are accepting it whole-heartedly. And when you drink the water that Jesus gives, you thirst for more. I don't think I will ever stop thirsting for more. He just keeps giving and giving.

So, don't be a taster, but be a drinker.
