Here is what can't be lost in the Book of Life; your name.

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. KJV

Strong's Concordance has the Greek word as "ov un" or "ou me" that was translated into English word "not" is a double negative, meaning He would never do that.

"i.e. ou - ou 3756 and mh - me 3361; a double negative strengthening the denial; not at all:--any more, at all, by any (no) means, neither, never, no (at all), in no case (wise), nor ever, not (at all, in any wise). Compare mh ouk - me ouk 3378."

Hence eternal security regarding your name never being removed out of the Book of Life. Why? It is the Father's will.

John 639 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. 40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Here is what can be lost in the Book of Life, by an unrepentant iniquity, you can lose your first inheritance to live in that mansion that Jesus had prepared for you in that City of God at the pre great tribulation rapture event.

Revelation 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. KJV

John 14:1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. KJV

This is why He is warning saved believers to be ready as found abiding in Him as His disciples or else; see verse 6 in John 15:1-8 and see Luke 12:40-49 in how His servants will get stripes for the measure they had for not being ready.

He has also warned believers that they need to pray for help from Him that they be not ensnared by being overcharged by the cares of this life that a believer would be tempted not to want to leave per Luke 14:15-24 & Luke 21:33-36

Discipleship as in running that race is separate from salvation because we can only run that race as saved believers to be even in that race to begin with. By looking to the author & finisher of our faith to help us lay aside every weight & sin daily is how we walk in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son in living that reconciled relationship with God thru Jesus Christ.

Do not run that race to save yourself les you deny yourself as saved even though you are still in that race but technically, not moving at all if seeking to obtain your salvation in that way.

Run that race as saved believers because with Jesus Christ in you is how you can run that race as we trust Jesus Christ as our Good Shepherd to help us to discern the lies, the iniquities, and thereby help us to depart from iniquity.

The just shall live by faith. Believe Him for all things Romans 8:31-32 and may God help you find your rest in Jesus Christ Hebrews 11:1-16 as His yoke is easy and His burden light; Matthew 11:28-30 & Philippians 1:6-11
