In my reading, God rested on the seventh day and got back to work on the eighth day of creation, forming Adam, making this the second week of creation, which will make Christ's millenium reign God's second day of rest.

Genesis Chapter 1 to Genesis Chapter 2 verse 3 is an overview of the Creation of the Heavens and Earth.
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adam was already mentioned created on the sixth day in Genesis Chapter 1 verse 26-27
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

From Gen 2:4 and onward it starts to get a little more into the generations and some specifics
Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lastly Adam was both formed and created; "to answer your main question"
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Gen 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;
Gen 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

You ask a question you seem to have an answer to and even when an answer is given you withhold your answer/wisdom.

Is it possible for you to go thru line by line your specific sources for each point so one can know where you are coming from? I did so when I answered your question and I am including further info below.
