Luke 17:11-19 tells the wonderful—and sad—story of Jesus healing ten men afflicted with leprosy, a terrible skin disease. These men had called out to Jesus and asked Him to have mercy on the them. Jesus answered their prayer by healing every one of the. That’s the wonderful part of this account.
Now comes the sad part. Jesus healed ten men that day, but only one of them came back to Jesus to express his gratitude. The other none just went on their way, seemingly unaware that God in the flesh Himself had done an amazing miracle for them.
You should make sure you aren’t like those none ungrateful men. Instead, be like the one who came back to Jesus-and like King David, who spoke the words of gratitude you just read in today’s scripture passage.
Prayer: Gracious heavenly Father, remind me daily of the many wonderful things You have done for me—and help me remember to speak to You words of deep gratitude.
