There is a lot of dissention in our family at present.... ALL of it brought about by family members that are members of UU, against Christian family members. Frivolous lawsuits, and then turning around and telling them how much they Love them.. all the while trying to stick it to them..

In an email I sent to one member, at the end of the correspondence, I mentioned that I will continue to pray for them and lift their name up to the Lord.

I received this in return:

You know, I truly respect your decision to have whatever beliefs you have. However, I would appreciate the same respect. I am an intelligent, thoughtful and mindful person who makes her decisions in the same way. I refuse to be prayed for because you think I do not have the truth.

Truly - I live a good life and do not need your prayers. I will be praying that you and others like you can get over your arrogance and superiority and accept the diversity of beliefs and life.

I feel more compelled than ever to pray for this woman and her salvation. But what I find odd is that she feels that she can disallow me to pray for her.

I really feel that we have nothing more to say to one another, and that is sad, because she is poisoning young impressionable minds with all of this "Liberal Baloney". We live too far away to actually take an active roll in helping them to make informed decisions...but we will offer out support to the Christian side of the family.... I don't know what else we can do.

I just wonder too exactly who she could be praying too since she is so against anything to do with the One True God.

Perhaps I need to take time to do an in depth study into the varios cults, so that I can learn what we are up against.

My heart physically aches from this. And the thing that I wanted to write back was " I will NEVER EVER get over knowing and believing the one True God's TRUTH".... but I am sitting here cooling my heels... and venting amongst fellow brothers and sisters.

Hello Linden Lady

Someone rightly said "You can choose your friends, but you cannot choose family, they are born into your life" Over years and a thousand experiences my wife and I find this to be reality. And being Christians the point becomes more acute.

We are tremendously privileged to know the Lord. "He made a way, when He said that it is done" words of a new song at our fellowship.

To understand such words is to know something of His love. "He made a way, when He said that it is done, I know you love me" Wow We are unique, in the world set apart by His mighty saving grace.

I look at some precious family members and know that the best, the best, I can do for them is to pray for their Salvation. Conversation on matters dear to my heart, and life belief, bring tension.....which I do not want

I am saddened that family are not as I in matters of 'faith' in God Almighty. But "God is faithful" and I leave it with Him....hoping, praying for Salvation.

I pray the Jesus give you peace and joy in this matter, knowing as He said "Cast thy burden upon the LOrd and He will sustain thee" The word 'sustain' there means to uphold, bring to pass.....Amen

Well folks, I feel lots better.... I made full use of the day, and prayed and read more chapters in the book of John, and in Romans too. I know that there is nothing I can do to turn them toward Christ except to live as Christ would have me live. Love, prayer, and a quiet demeaner is called for in these instances...

I admit I wanted very much to lash out.. but I also know where that emotion was coming from and so I simply rebuked Satan and put my trust where it belongs.. with my Lord.

One thing... I found rather amusing.. and actually had to smile.. was her remark that she "refuses to be prayed for"... how can someone keep another from praying for them...

But I must keep on praying.... she has so much anger in her... and perhaps I would too if I rejected Christ.
